Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Alina Costache

Something brings you here - and if thinking alone could have sorted it, you'd probably have done that by now.

Much of what keeps us stuck lives below the level of thought - in patterns that repeat, memories stored in the body, parts of yourself that don't respond to logic. So rather than working ‘from the neck up’ only, we slow down and pay attention to what's arising moment-by-moment: feelings, sensations, intuitions, imagery. That 'felt sense' often unlocks what circling thoughts can't.

I create a space where all of you can feel welcome - not just your 'best self.' Clients describe me as warm, authentic and connected, with the right dose of challenge. Rather than feeling diagnosed, labelled or explained, they feel genuinely met - and more willing to experiment with bolder, freer ways of living.

I work relationally, which means that our therapeutic relationship itself is part of the work. How you show up here can shed unexpected light on how you show up elsewhere - and that's something we can explore at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach draws on intensive training in Gestalt, the neurobiology of trauma, Internal Family Systems, somatics and yoga. I have particular experience with childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, sexuality, as well as work-related challenges.

I work with individuals on both a short-term and open-ended basis.

I have space on Tuesday afternoons.
