Carla Nella

Carla works  with people from a wide range of backgrounds, and she is firm supporter of equality and difference. In her private practice she tends to attract young women concerned with a variety of struggles from eating disorders, body image, relationship with self and others, grief, depression, identity issues, anxiety, loneliness or simply to thrive more in their everyday lives.

Her practice is not limited to these particular areas. Alongside her private work she has been working in the forensic services of the NHS for offenders with mental health conditions, who cannot be managed within the referring service. She has also worked in the charity sector at Bede house, working alongside young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities by helping them navigate their mental health.

When working alongside her you can expect confidential and judgment free sessions along with deep empathy when looking through the lens of your experience, as well as warmth and humour when it feels right. Carla says 'I will bring my authentic self in order for you to bring yours. Together we will create a safe place where challenging feelings, thoughts and experiences can be communicated, sensed and understood in order to facilitate growth.'

Through her integrative approach she combines Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Psychodynamic Theory and Transactional Analysis. This gives us a range of options to draw on, and means together you can find the ideal way of working that suits you. Creativity is integral to her therapeutic practice as the Arts can help illuminate experiences that words are difficult to define. We adapt to however you want to communicate as a
person; no set approach or artistic ability is necessary.

Carla currently offers short term therapy (max of 4 months) - she is also available for a free initiia; 15 mins conversation.

Dr Stella Duffy

Existential Psychotherapist

Stella is a UKCP and BACP registered therapist with a doctorate in Existential Psychotherapy. Her doctoral research was in the embodied experience of postmenopause and she has a special interest in supporting people through major life transitions such as illness, in/fertility, menopause, and bereavement.

Her existential training means that while she is happy to work with a variety of issues, she is particularly interested in working with you to consider your choices, your responsibility for your own life, and how you might choose to live that life in the wider context of the people around you.

Stella worked in the arts for many years as a writer and theatre-maker, supporting community-based creativity and engagement. A great deal of her work has been around inclusion and equalities, in wider terms and in LGBTQ+ issues. She has a passionate belief in both the creativity of every person and the value of supporting people to explore their own creative approaches to life’s dilemmas.

As a qualified yoga teacher and Focusing practitioner, she is interested in embodied approaches to therapeutic work, which she personally found useful in her recoveries from cancers and in living with the experience and effects of early medical menopause. Stella offers individual, relationship, and group therapy.

Sarah Hutton

Art Psychotherapist - Psychotherapist

The relationship we have with ourselves and others is at the core of our every day. I hold a safe and empathetic space, enabling us to explore and navigate those relationships together, working through both conscious and unconscious elements.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy provides the opportunity to not only express yourself and be heard, but to reflect and transform. It can help you process trauma, mental health difficulties or life challenges; access and navigate your unconscious attachments, behaviours and motivations; and shed light on patterns which may no longer serve you. When words are difficult to find or may not be enough, I can provide the option of other forms of expression too such as using or selecting images.

This is a journey we will walk together at your own pace, where change, although often uncomfortable, can be embraced.

I currently offer individual sessions for adults and young people. I am experienced in working with clients with a range of needs, including those navigating anxiety, depression and grief; self-esteem and attachment issues; identity and relationship difficulties; childhood abuse/neglect and domestic violence, and addictive behaviours.

Fee: £75 - £100 per session  - Book with Sarah here

Frankie Jones

Sex and Relationship therapist (in Training)

Frankie is a Sex & Relationship Therapist in training working with both couples/multiple partnered people and individuals (and soon to finish her training). Having spent many years of her adult life as a professional actor, this has given her the opportunity to work with people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Through this field of work it became apparent how many people felt as though they would benefit from a therapist with extensive knowledge in sex and relationships. Identifying as queer Frankie feels that understanding herself and her world will be a lifelong journey, and she knows how dedicated time in a non-judgmental space can be a real gift, which she feels privileged to offer to her clients. Frankie feels that therapy provides people with what might be the only time in their day to openly explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions and she is passionate about supporting clients in a safe and non-judgmental way.

Therapy can be life changing but also can feel a little new and different so Frankie offers a warm, friendly and open environment for clients to sink into and see where it takes them.

Frankie has space on Tuesday evenings
