Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Daniella Salamone

Welcome.

I am a Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, whose practice is guided by the belief that healing happens not in isolation, but in relationship- to ourselves, each other, and to the wider social field we are part of.

Living and being a person in the world is difficult at times for everyone. Each of our individual experiences are inseparable and are shaped by the environments, relationships, culture, systems, and histories that surround us.

My Gestalt approach offers a holistic, creative and embodied (meaning ‘felt and lived’ through the body) way to make sense of your challenges and difficulties. I am interested in helping people explore how they can find their own way to live more fully and meaningfully- with a greater sense of choice, self-acceptance and connection.

My aim is to create a therapeutic space that is respectful, safe and supportive for you to show up as yourself, and is responsive to your specific needs.

My practice supports creative ways of expressing and communicating and I am interested in exploring together how your experiences of the world might manifest through your body. Becoming more aware of the different ways you are responding can lead to greater clarity and understanding of your emotions, the discovery of additional supportive strategies and even the opportunity to experiment with doing things differently.

I aim to work using an anti-oppressive framework which means acknowledging the impact of marginalisation and systems of oppression on past and lived experience, according to differing social identities, and how these same dynamics can show up in the therapy room.

I work with people across a broad spectrum of identities and lived experiences, including those who are neurodivergent, gender-diverse, and part of minoritised communities.

I bring to my practice, a background of sustained work in the domestic and sexual violence sector, as well as in services supporting sex workers. I’ve also supported people navigating the UK criminal justice system and those in the process of seeking refuge or asylum. These experiences shape the way I hold space for the complexities of trauma, systemic harm and resilience.

I am currently completing a Masters degree at Metanoia Institute and am a registered member of the BACP.

I work with individuals in person and online, on a sliding scale dependent on income/ability to pay.

Fee: £65
Concessions spaces dependent on income/ability to pay are available
